March 2018 Racing Newsletter

Saturday Racing

Since last newsletter we have completed another series. The RK Robertson interclub series, sponsored by RM MacKay Yacht Brokerage and Whitworths Marine and Leisure, was completed last weekend. Congratulations to the winners and place getters:

Div 1. Challenge, Greg Croak, (RMYCT) first, Stealthy, Bob Cowen (SLMASC) second and The Real Thing, John Anderson (LMYC) third.

Div 2. Wanmei, Linsday Harding (WASC) first, Yes Chef, Stefan Schelbert (WASC) second and Kite, Ian White (LMYC) third.

Div 3. How’s Trix, Graham Parr (RMYCT) first, Barney Cool, Adam Boslem (RMYC) second and The Apple, Peter Hartley (LMYC third.

Overall winner across all divisions is Graham Parr in How’s Trix.

This coming week will see the end of the 2017-2018 summer sailing season. This will give us the winner of the Australian Boat Brokers Bay series, The Summer series and the yearly overall series.

Following the racing there will be a roast meat roll instead of the usual sausage sizzle while we wait for all the results to be tallied.

Next week is Easter and the with the Good Friday race starting at 1400.

Friday Twilights

Congratulations to all lady skippers competing in the ‘Belmont Hairdo’ sponsored Lady Skipper series and especially to:

Eleanor in Equinox, (6.0) taking the series out this year three (3) points ahead of Natalie Butterworth, So Farr (9.0), who was only one (1) point ahead of Sandy Murray in Aruna (10.0)

Presentation Night

Skippers, get your crews organised and buy your tickets and book your table for the presentation night on Saturday 5th May, 2018.  Celebrate your achievements and enjoy the company of your crew mates and the crews of your competitors. I promise you will be in for a good night.
