Have expired marine flares on board?Round 1 of the Expired Marine Flare Collection Program 2026/27 will be delivered from 6 to 22 November 2026 at key boating locations across NSW. The program provides a safe, simple, and environmentally responsible way for boaters to dispose of expired or unwanted marine flares free of charge. Check it. Replace it. Dispose of it safelyCheck the expiry date printed on your marine flares and replace any that have expired.Bring expired or unwanted flares to a designated collection site during the program period.Flares cannot be wet or damaged when handing them in at collection points.For large quantities exceeding 10 kilograms or special cases, consult SafeWork NSW or a licensed explosives professional to determine the safest and lawful handling, transport and disposal approach.
