The Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club, on Newcastle Harbour at Wickham, as LMYC’s sister Club run an active Sailing Academy conducting learn-to-sail courses in both keelboats and dinghies on the waters of Newcastle Harbour. LMYC recommends the Academy as an accredited Discover Sailing Centre of Australian Sailing and delivers courses of the National Keelboat Program. These courses are highly suitable for crew wanting to sail at LMYC. Many of the Academy graduates go on to become regular sailors on the enclosed waters of Lake Macquarie at NCYC, the LMYC and other local yacht clubs. If you are interested in trying sailing, learn some practical skills, gaining more confidence & experience, a learn-to-sail course at the NCYC Sailing Academy is our recommended option! LMYC also encourages crew registration with our Club while undergoing training. Full details including course dates and online registration are available on the website – www.ncyc.net.au/sailing-academy
